We had such a great holiday. Diane and Fernando came down from Houston to spend a few days with us. We are so glad that we have some family close by to spend time with. They were so great at helping and playing with the kids. We really enjoy the time we have with them. Diane came to my rescue as I killed the rolls two batches. I couldn't get them to rise. She's saved the day and helped me cook all night Wed. night and most of the day on Thursday. But everything was way yummy and worth all the work.
We had our good friends the Partridges come and join us for Dinner and wanted to make sure everything was just right. So we had backup's for our backup's just in case it didn't work. I was so busy running around I didn't even take a picture of the finished products, or of the cute Partridge family. But I'm so glad I have such great friends and that they could join us in celebrating Thanksgiving.
Diane rising the rolls with our heat lamp lights. They sure come in handy at times.
Uncle Fernando keeping the kids entertained. They adore uncle Fernando and begged him to jump with them all day long. Thanks Fernando for being such a great sport.
The Smoking hot turkey :) I mean my Smoking hot hubby smoking a turkey!!!
Ryan's' helper #1.
And helper #2.
The bird. It was so good. Ryan did such a great job.
The back up bird. Not as good but still pretty tasty.
I think we will have leftovers for months.
On another note at school the kids learned about what Thanksgiving is all about.
Josh learned he is very grateful for the Indians who came to help the Pilgrims. According to him the Pilgrims only ate bark and dirt and then Indians helped them grow Turkeys. I'm so glad they learned how to grow those Turkeys because Thanksgiving wouldn't be the same with out it.
Here is a cute picture he drew about the things he's thankful for. I couldn't get it to flip around.
I'm very thankful that he is thankful for God, his family and himself. I also love the picture of God with him saying "hi I'm God." Trevor wasn't as thankful for his homework because he has to write a paper on Thanksgiving. But he learned alot and I know in the future he will be thankful for his great knowledge. I'm very Thankful for Trevor he was a great help and loves to cook. Friday morning he got up early and made everyone pancakes. They were a little Salty as he mixed up Teaspoon with Tablespoon but I was very impressed that he printed off a recipe and made the whole thing with out any help from anyone.
Gavin was just thankful that his friends Luke and Julia were here. He adores baby Julia if only he wouldn't scream in her face poor girl. He unfortunately thinks because babies cry he needs to scream at them to communicate.
And it looks like I can't make my blog Private. Because the people that I write it for (my extended family far away.) for some reason can't add them to link on. So I'm trying to block out all the search engines and hopefully that will help a bit. So thanks to all of you that say you enjoy reading. Keep reading and leave me a comment every now and then. I loved hearing from people I haven't in a long long time.
I hope everyone had a great and yummy Thanksgiving. Next up Christmas and I haven't even started shopping. Better get cracking!!!
