The dreaded Christmas tree lighting.

Every year putting up the Christmas tree is a nightmare. If we didn't have kids I don't think I would even bother. I know I'm a Grinch when it comes to trees. But all that hassle of putting it together lighting it and then decorating it only to have the kids pull everything off and break all the ordaments before it's even December.
This year was a real treat. We finally found the tree amongst the 60 unpacked boxes and there was no tree stand. Nor can we find our Christmas stocking, stocking holders, tree skirt or ornaments we did find some Ornaments but they were all broken. So with the house all torn apart on the busiest shopping day with pouring down rain, and me still struggling to overcome my pnemonia. We decided to go on a hunt for a tree stand. We went in this garden store with the loudest Christmas music blasting with HUGE lines and the overwhelming amounts of people just trying to save a buck destroying the store in the meantime. Trevor and Josh went nuts and ran to the million life size nutcracker Isle while Gavin Freaked out with the over stimulation. And there was no Christmas tree stand to be found. We saw some pre-lit trees that were 1/2 off and it was a no brainer it's easy and convenient and we wont have to go to another store. Needless to say it's not the cutest tree but it was so easy to put up. We got all cheap plastic ornaments and called it good. The boys had a great time this year decorating it. Why we didn't do this earlier I'll never know. I do love our old tree it was Ryans parents and it's so beautiful. But I'm so grateful for the modern day inventions and that this year we finally had a great experience decorating the tree.
