Doesn't this little dog look sweet and innocent? A perfect family pet right? WRONG!! It's the demon dog who's' goal in life is to make me crazy.
Why you may ask.
1. Look at my previous post of memorial day and our fun water slide that we paid way to much for. Knowing that it would be our main summer activity. Now picture me covered in glue (super glue)why?.... Because the demon dog chewed up the water slide with 8 HUGE holes in it. The boys had only used the thing twice. My attempts to save it did work but it probably wont last very long. And I'm using the thing for Josh's b-day party so I'm really babying it Right now. Therefore we haven't played on it for a week and it's been a long hot week!!!
2. After many tears were shed over the fixing of the water slide I threw the dog in the house so he wouldn't bother me while I was fixing it. Only to find see another previous post of my beautiful silk curtains. Why?.... The demon dog PEED on my curtains. Did I mention they are silk?
3. When kids are over to play I usually put Jake in the bathroom so he doesn't jump all over the kids. Well we had some friends over and we played out side so the kids didn't mind Jake playing with them. But then.... The Demon dog nipped at two of the kids. (one was a baby) He didn't break skin but he sure hurt alot of feelings and now they are terrified of Dogs.
4. Josh left his beloved Star wars guy on the floor. And guess what....The Demon dog chewed off his arms. legs and 1/2 of his head. Poor Josh said to Jake. "you were my best friend why did you do this to me?" Broke my heart.
5. Ryan is always gone at least one night a week for church so I put the kids down by myself. And it never fails. Just as I get the kids all settled.... The demon dog finds something he needs to bark at and wakes them all up!!!
Any advice on what to do with a Demon dog? Ryan and the boys don't want to get rid of him. But me I'm ready to drive up the hill (we don't have mountains) and drop him off. Yes I'm grateful that he saved me from the snake. But at this point I'd rather deal with the snake then this DEMON DOG!!!

I would love your little demon dog. I can't wait to meet him in Sept. or earlier. We'll see if he can charm Fernando. We're apartment shopping in Houston this weekend! We don't officially move there until July 14.
I say get rid of the dog. Why??? Because you are the one dealing with it. If it's ruining your stuff and causing you tons of stress it's not worth it!!!! Hope the b-day party goes well.
Oh my gosh, what Josh said about his Star Wars guy made me cry! It's a crappy situation, because I know how fun little dogs can be, yet what a pain in the butt at the same time! Have you considered a puppy obedience program? But if he's nipping at babies, that's a problem... I'm so sorry Suzette!!!
This is why I don't have pets. They cost a lot of money, require babysitting and destroy nice things. To the pound with demon. Sorry boys.
okay reading this just cements my thoughts on NOT getting a dog until the kids are older. Which now will probably be NEVER! They are so cute. But seriously it is YOU taking care of it and having to do EVERYTHING and if YOU DON'T LIKE IT then you should be able to find a loving home with NO GUILT! Nipping at babies would make me a little worried but it is still a puppy so who knows... Put an ad in the paper/online and see if anyone is interested. I bet you'd find someone fast since he at least looks like an angel ;-)
Dogs are way over rated. Guarenteed to destroy any major investment ie your house, and sanity.
thank you for confirming to me why it is we are not ready for a dog! My boys have been begging for some time and this helps me stand my ground!! Good stories though!
Suzette,
Please disregard Diane's comment about wanting the dog. There will be no dog in our apartment in Houston. :) Good luck with it!
