A few weeks ago I attended this Wonderful Women's conference for our church. They had this little booth all about food storage and a easy one step process of getting your supply. Ryan and I have been trying to come up with Idea's but always seemed to draw blanks on how to start this whole process. So this was easy and a great kick start on preparing our family in any time of need. This got Ryan and I really excited about this whole process. It was ALOT of work but I know it will be well worth it in the end.
We got Can rotation racks to put in the pantry to store food in there as well.
Before
I took everything out of the pantry to organize it.
After
Helping with the food storage closet.
Cleaning up all the boxes.
The finnished project. With a angry looking Trevor. He didn't want his picture taken.
We moved all of Ryan's stuff into my closet and made his our little food storage compound.
The boys were such great helpers. They really enjoyed putting the cans into the racks, and Trevor moved every single can from one room to the other. And even little monkey Gavin had fun helping out. By eating all the cookies from the pantry. He was in Heaven. I feel so good to have such a good start with a nice organized pantry and closet. I hope it will stay that way for a while.

Way to go Suzette!!! YOu've inspired me to do the same. We'll see if it ACTUALLY happens.
I am SOOOO jealous of your pantry! We have been wanting to do more with our food storage as well, but we have NO room! I'm suddenly all in a panic that we don't have our supply together. Yikes! You're a great inspiration!
Way to go Suzy! I agree it can be so overwhelming! Where to start and how much is enough. Your rack looks great! (I mean the food storage one you sicko!) J/K! Your boys look like great little helpers!
It looks awesome! I have a stange love of organizing. I love that your kids helped. Hope that one day I can talk my family into "FUN" games like organize the pain cans.
HA
Nice going guys. I have been a bit panicked about getting my food storage done and so I am appreciative of your great example.
I bet that took a lot of time! You are awesome! We've been meaning to do more as well. We have quite a bit of stuff but it's just in the boxes in the garage. I never have even once thought of bringing them inside and using them ;-) I love that rack thing. I've seen them advertised tons but never saw a real need for it since I store it in the garage but that really is the best way to utilize all the f.s. that you have! by the way do you like the "thrive" brand of foods? I haven't tried it. We've got the other one Mountain something...
Good job on your food storage!
Kami Thanks for the compliment on my rack :)... And Thrive is ok. It's not the best but hey if we are starving it will come in handy. I just like how they had everything all figured out for you and took out the guessing of what is needed. I only got two months supply and then we are getting food we actually eat to roate with it so that way we should have enough for 4 or 5 months supply. It's just a start of what we want but I was so overwhelmed with where to start that this worked perfectly.!!!
