Batman belts don't work.

While Ryan and I were away relaxing Grandma and Grandpa Jenkins were here holding down the fort with the boys. Grandpa came to get us from the Airport late Sat. night and told us they were almost home free from disaster until that morning. Poor little Josh had decided that he was a ninja and put on his batman belt to help him Fly. Unfortunately he missed his mark jumping off our center Island and hit his head on the counter splitting his eye open. It was pretty traumatic for Josh. (Our child who is deathly afraid of needles.) He got 5 stitches all while telling the Dr. "Dude that's enough you don't understand dude." Grandpa said it was sad because you knew it was traumatic for him but he also couldn't help laughing at his comments.
That next morning when we woke up Josh came down the stairs he looks so miserable. I just scooped him up and gave him a big love. He then said to me "Mom you were right I can't fly, and Batman belts don't work." I couldn't help but laugh!! I just asked if he was ever going to do that again and he said "no way are you crazy?"
He has been so proud of his war wound. All the kids at school have asked him about it and he gets to tell the story daily about how he learned he can't fly. And how brave he was. We got the stitches out on Wed. and it is healing nicely. I'm so glad that the boys were in such good hands with Grandma and Grandpa they took such good care of them. The boys are a big bundle of energy and Grandma and Grandpa completely understood why we needed a little vacation.

That is one of the saddest and funniest stories all in one. Don't you just love those moments, you can't decided wether to cry or laugh.
