T. got to go on a really fun field trip yesterday.
I asked him who he would like to come me or Dad. And he said. "Mom I don't want to hurt your feelings but I don't get to do much with Dad so if he could come I'd really like that." What a mature way of saying that he wanted his Dad to come. And Ryan was lucky enough to be able to be a chaperon that day. With a sprained ankle and all.
Trevor has an amazing Teacher. She has been so devoted to Trevor's education. She has touched Trevor's life in so many ways. I have such a love and admiration for teachers. They are with my kids longer then I am in the day and have such a impact on their lives. You can tell the teachers that love to teach and love children apart from the one's that it's just their job. This year we were blessed with both boys having a teacher who truly loved teaching and loved my boys as well. Trevor never once told me this year that he didn't want to go to school and that he thought his teacher was mean. He really felt the love she had for him and excelled because of it. I just went to parent teacher conf. for him and was blown away by his progress. He's reading at a middle of 4Th grade level, his math scores went from 48% to 92%, and his writing that we really struggled with went from a 56% to a 91%. I devote all this progress to Trevor's hard work and to a Teacher that encouraged him to never give up. I'm really going to miss Mrs.McGahey. She is such a great example as what Teachers should be and I know one Trevor will always remember.
I'm so proud of Trevor. It's in moments like this that makes being a Mom the most amazing job ever.
