This year we took it pretty easy on the 4th. Early that morning I went to a sweet girls baptism. Ashley is such a beautiful girl we love her family so much. I had Trevor come with me and Ryan took Josh and Gavin swimming. After we put Gavin down for a nap and attempted to build his bed. Unfortunately a few pieces broke in the packaging so we came to a stand still after we moved the queen bed from the guest room. Now the house is such a mess with things not in place until the parts come. I HATE that.
We didn't even attempt to go to the outside festivities remembering last year we almost died in the heat. So we just ate pizza and had a little family picnic. Later that evening we met up with some friends and watched the fireworks. It's amazing how hot it stays even into the night, we drank so much water. But going early really payed off as we got a sweet spot and were on time to see the sky divers start the show. We were so glad to go with the Partridges. We always have a good time with them. And we had to wait for ever for the fireworks to start who knows when DUSK really is?? So the kids just played while we chatted. My idea of perfect.
Next year hopefully we will try to plan things a little better and have a big Texas sized BBQ with some of our friends, with some activities for the kids to do. I love the 4th and spending time with my family doing something together that we all enjoy. It's my little slice of Heaven.
Ryan's awesome pictures of the fireworks.
Playing with the glow sticks. A mandatory for wondering children like mine are.
Picking out our prime spot and waiting for the partridges. I loved that we had so much field to run and we were not on top of a million people like the other side.

Sounds like fun, at least there were fireworks the only ones we had were the $30 worth that brandon bought, you know strobes, flowers, etc... haha!
