We've been doing lots of this.
Trevor learned how to dive in swim lessons. I love how he bends all the way down it's so funny. Josh loves to jump in and out of the pool he's a little fish. The fear I have is he thinks he's a perfect swimmer because he was the only one in his class that didn't need floaters. He does good but he does still need to be watched very closley. And little Gavin is a swimming machine. I LOVE puddle jumpers. The best invention. It took us some time to get used to them. But if you don't kick and move you sink so it teaches you how to swim. He begs to go swimming everyday. And we pretty much do go everyday. The best thing about Texas is most neighborhoods have a pool. We have been lucky to find the times where ours isn't busy. It's so nice to go and relax and wear the boys out. I love to ride our bikes up. We all get such a good work out that way.
Josh and Gavin have been doing alot of this.
I don't want the boys to forget everything they learned in School over the summer. So I have them do a work book for 10 mins, read to us every night and play educational games on the computer. Gavin loves to play with Josh. And Josh is so cute with him. It makes me smile every time when I hear Josh making Gavin laugh. (excuse the clutter) I can't stand clutter but it is what it is and this summer is Killing me!!!
And we've been dealing alot with things like this.
Yes it's a bit embarrassing (ok alot) to hear my reaction I was crying I was so scared. But if I can't laugh at myself then life gets pretty overwhelming.
It was about 10:00 at night when I went into the kitchen to finish cleaning up so I could get to bed. When I flipped on the light this huge thing went running in front of my feet. I just flew up onto the center island and the camera was right there so I took a picture of it to see what I was dealing with. I thought it was a mouse (yes it was that big) and was even more afraid when I saw what it actually was. I started to yell (quietly) for Ryan because every time I got down it would run and I didn't want to lose track of it. But he had his earphones on and couldn't hear me. So there I sat for 1/2 hr trying to figure out what to do. Finally Ryan came to my rescue. The video doesn't do this thing justice of how HUGE it is. Yes this is one thing I miss about Seattle. At least they didn't have HUGE spiders, and scorpions. But I need sunshine in my life so I guess that's a trade I have to live with. This was after we killed two scorpions. One was on the celling so we sucked it up in the vacuum but couldn't find it in the stuff you throw away so now I don't dare use my vacuum for the fear of that thing crawling out while I'm using it. It will be interesting to see what instincts out last. Either fear or my OCD with having to vacuum everyday. So far it's been two days and I'm starting to go a bit crazy..

Eww. Eww. Eww. I would never be able to walk around in the dark EVER AGAIN! And yes, I would be crying.
OH my gosh, Suzi you are hilarious! Love the spider vid. I would have reacted the exact same way! :)
Jeez girl, that is one huge spider! I'm kinda glad we don't live behind the green belt because we don't get them as bad as you. I loved the part of the video when you told Ryan to get a hammer. That would've been a little funny to watch him smashing your tile with a hammer just trying to kill a mammoth spider. And yes, I would have freaked out too.

Okay, so now if it's not your kids making me bust out laughing, it's you!!!! Seriously I'm still laughing just thinking of you jumping on the counter and the camera going all over the place! Funny! I'd have done the SAME thing! That looks ginormous! p.s. about the scorpion... hopefully it got all disintegrated while being sucked up! I think I would cry more about the scorpion though ;-)
Okay, that was sick! Oh my gosh I'd rather see a snake in my kitchen.
si-ick.
Except that I'm still laughing at you a little bit.
