Life has been pretty crazy around the Jenkins house. With church callings, Ryan's work, the boys after school activities, and homework. We've been pretty busy.
Josh my very observant child told me the other day. "I'm so glad I'm not a girl, so I don't have to be a Mom." Why? I asked him. He then said. "Because you haven't even sat down all day. 2 year olds keep Mom's pretty busy. I'm hungry can you make me a sandwich?" I guess he didn't realize that 6 year olds can keep Mom's busy too :)!!!!
So when Labor day rolled around we decided to take a break and go to see Diane and Fernando. I've been dieing to go to Houston and see their house. I'm so happy to have some family live in the same state and it really wasn't that far away. The kids did AWESOME on the drive up. It was fun to go through all the little city's here.
Diane and Fernando were great hosts considering we bombarded their just cleaned, quiet town house with three wild crazy boys, who were in a car for 3 hrs. ready to run around. I couldn't believe how settled in they were. It takes me years to put pictures on the walls. And it was so cute.
We spent the next day walking around their neighborhood and checking out a really fun park. It was WAY more humid there and we were dieing of the heat. I guess you just get used to where you live because they didn't feel it. But man I do believe it's hotter there. The boys have been begging us to stay in a hotel so we decided to go to one close to Diane's house on Sat. Luckily we picked one right in this HUGE awesome mall. We spent that night swimming and then going to the Cheese cake factory. My very favorite place ever. (their oriental chicken salad is the best ever) But we kinda pushed the kids too far and that night was MISERABLE. No one slept and we were all so very tired. So needless to say we were pretty cranky the next morning.
But since we only did adult things and the kids were very understanding we let them pick a activity. We gave them a choice of Ice skating, going to the Children's museum or bungee jump. And I should of known with my boys the would pick bungee jumping in the mall. They loved it.
Gavin was to small so I took him to build a bear and got Floppy. He was so cute building his dog. He got freaked out by them stuffing it and kept grabbing it telling the lady "no don't hurt him he's mine".
Ryan and I were exhausted so we decided to head home. Ryan told Trevor he would dedicate Monday to finishing his dirt bike. It's been a project that has taken a year to put together. So I went to the store with Gavin and left the two older boys here with Ryan to Finnish up building it. When I got home I heard the engine roar and 3 very excited kids. Ryan, Josh, and Trevor were all jumping up and down. (as a side note I've never wanted this thing in the 1st place and grit my teeth every time they start working on it.) But with 3 boys and a husband that loves dirt bikes I knew it was something that was going to happen someday.
Well here is the video of his 1st ride.
Sorry there are two video's as you can hear I was trying to keep Josh and Gavin from running into the street and chasing Trevor while I was video taping.
Yup and here is the results.
Poor kid started summer with a hurt elbow to where he couldn't go swimming and now he gets to start his school year with a broken elbow. And it's the same arm. The right one. Ryan felt so bad. And yes I was sooo not happy!!! If it were up to me this motorcycle would be up on Craig's list right now. But if it were up to me I would keep my kids in a bubble and kept them young and safe forever!!!

ouch! poor Trevor! and poor you, it's tough as a mom seeing your little one's get hurt. Good thing kids are resilient right?
Sorry, but that second video was hilarious! Poor Trevor does not have good luck.
that's so cute about Gav being worried about stuffing his dog.
You have the best stories.
