Simple reminders

Gavin was throwing a huge fit about his sun shade in the van that he couldn't pull  up.  I told him he had to wait until I pull over so I could fix it, and that he doesn't need to throw a fit.  He then replied. "'I can't even lift a fit, to throw it?"  Then a little later he asked "What's a fit?'  It made me laugh and think of how sometimes I forget to tell the kids what I mean by the things I say. Like don't go past our block but not show them where our block ends. And then I get mad at them for going to far.  Or watch out for that fire ant pile and then not show them what one looks like.  (they only had to learn that one once though).

I just got called to be the 9-10 year old teacher in primary and studying the lesson this week it's going back to the basics of my gospel and teaching the simple things that sometimes we forget to mention but are very important to know.  I hope as I teach these young kids this year that I can learn more about the small things and be more patient in teaching them to my children.  Oh how I love the sweet and simple way my kids remind me to do this. Being a Mom is the hardest job on earth.  I hope my kids can grow up with out having to have years and years of therapy to undo all my mistakes.  But I try hard everyday to be the best I can be and I love these little stinkers with all my heart.  That should knock off at least one year of therapy right?
