The big 6.

My baby turned 6. Every day this kid sais something that cracks me up. The night before his birthday when I was tucking him in he said to me. "Mom this is the last day you are ever going to kiss a 5 year old."

His teacher summed him up quite nicely. Saying he's very quirky and becomes obsessed with things to where that's all he wants to talk about. Yup that's my Gavin. He has a love for life and is just such a joy to be around. And when he finds something he LOVES he lets everyone know every detail of that thing for Months and Months and Months. I think I've read his Venus fly trap book at least 700 times to him. He corrects me on the pronunciation on the places they grow. I have it memorized. Every night I try to convince him to read a new book and with his big puppy dog eyes welling up he always sais. "what about my Venus fly trap can we please read that too."
He has his brother Josh wrapped around his little finger. They are best buddies. Josh dotes on him so much that the little guy can't put on his own seat belt, shoes etc. And when I encourage him that big boys can do these things he always sais. "yep Josh does a good job." Little stinker. I'll have to admit he has me wrapped around his little finger too. I've been told a time or two that I spoil him. But I just can't help it he's such a fun kid.

His latest two obsessions are Plants VS zombies, Venus fly traps, and for some reason he wanted a giant gummy bear on a stick.

I was going to throw him a party but I just couldn't pull it together this year. I'm still not quite myself and it's driving me crazy. I did take him to the Hopin house the day before his birthday and he seemed to be ok with that.

On his Birthday I got up nice and early and got him his French toast from Cracker barrel. He loves that stuff and asks for it all the time. I was happy to know they were open at 6:00 so I could get it for him before school.

I asked him if I could come to lunch with him but he didn't want me to. He tells me. "if you come I'll miss you to much when you leave and want to come home." Pretty mature for a 6 year old I say. But sad for me.

So I just went in and took Cupcakes to the class. The kids are so cute. I love kindergartners. They are all so loving. They have a little saying in the school that they repeat to the kids every time there is a treat or gift given. "You get what you get and you don't throw a fit." I did make sure all the cupcakes had the same color of frosting so I didn't have tears with someone wanting pink and they got blue. And again he has the best teacher I just love her so much.
That night after school we opened presents and then had Chinese noodles Gavin's other favorite with more cake. We just love this little boy so much. He was a perfect completion to our little family.

Ryans Brother and cute wife Sara sent him this card.  He carried it around all day.  It was so thoughful and he was so happy that they knew he loved Pea shooters.

Happy Happy Birthday Buddy.  We sure love you.
