39. What???

The last few months I'm surprised that I survive my days.  This has been such a whirl wind crazy time for us.  It's Ryan's end of quarter which is always a stress as we don't see him very often.  His constant travel gets so old. And overwhelming for both of us.

The day after we got back from our cruise and it was a Sunday I may add.  Was my sweet husbands 39th birthday.  Luckily I had everything that I needed before we left I just had to get it all ready on Saturday.  So I made him a super yummy yellow cake and chocolate frosting. And his favorite chicken Satay with Peanut sauce.  The only thing I forgot to get was the candles.  So I had to make a 9 out of the 8.  It wasn't pretty.  It's a good thing my boys don't care.

With Ryan being gone all the time I had his gifts shipped to the house.  And of course the one day that he was home it showed up.  And this is what the box looked like.  Ya no hiding what's in side there.   He was such a stinker about wanting to put it up early.

Luckily the week we came back was our spring break week as we got adjusted to getting back to reality.
Then Ryan's parents came for a visit.  I felt bad that I wasn't my usual hostess as I had laundry up to my eye balls and trying to get things back to normal was so hard.  But we really enjoy them coming and are always so grateful to spend any time with them.

I just realized as I'm writing this that we were going to take Ryan out for a birthday dinner with them and all of us forgot to do that and didn't really celebrate his birthday with his parents.  So sorry babe.

 Then we started school again.
The boys always have a zillion things going on at school. Pulling them out for our trip and trying to get them caught up has been a nightmare. Poor Trevor is struggling so much. He has so much work and it's been a fight with his teacher to get things accomplished. I knew this going into it but I really didn't know it would be this hard to get the teachers to work with me. Josh's and Gavin's have been amazing and they are both already caught up. UGH.
I know someday I'll miss my crazy exhausting stage of life. But for now I try to just take it day by day. Or hr by hr sometimes.

Trevor having to get up early for Track, and all the homework I was saying to Ryan Friday morning. "We survived this week surprisingly well."   And it really was about 10 minutes later I got a phone call from my "Friend"  the school nurse telling me to come get Trevor because I need to take him to a eye dr.  She thinks he could of  broke some part of his eye.  I spoke too soon.

This is what he looked like when I picked him up.  I went to the councilor office because I was just so overwhelmed with all his work missing and not getting anywhere and broke down to her. (poor lady) I had kept my composure when I was called to come get him when he broke his wrist, when he sprang his ankle, when he threw up, when he got a concussion, and when he pulled his groin.  But this last one I was at my wits end and just lost it.  Poor kid just can't catch a break.

Apparently he walked by a garbage can just as a kid from the other side of the room threw his protein shake into the garbage and it hit Trevor's eye. Cut it open in two places, It scratched the inside of his eye and punchured his Corina.  luckily it's all reparable.  He had to wear these cool glasses as they dilated his eye.  He's so dramatic and was going crazy when he couldn't see.  We just have to put these drops in his eye for 5 days to make it so it doesn't move so it can heal it's self.  He hates them but is being a good sport.  The other kid felt so bad and I felt a ot better after I knew it truly was a accident.
He was supposed to go on a camp out with our church that night.  But because he couldn't see I didn't let him go.  He was so mad at me. But Ryan was going up the next day anyways so he just went a day late.  Hopefully Ryan remembers to put in his drops and noting else happens to this kid.

This day was also Josh's pinewood derby.  Oh that car.  Ryan wasn't home enough to really help him with it and I tried to help him make it the best we could.   He learned a good lesson in sportsman ship this year as he got 18th place out of about 26.  He felt pretty defeated.  And I was more annoyed that I couldn't go.  Trevor's teacher e-mailed me and said seeing how he was gone on Friday if he didn't get his assignment in Friday by midnight he would fail her class.  He still wasn't really able to see so I had to help him and dashed him up to the school to get it turned in.  But it took forever and he didn't get done until the derby was over.  The story of my life I always have to miss out on something.

Luckily Trevor got his assignment in on time and Josh will get to do another derby next year :)

On another note I forgot to post pictures of our Valentine boxes the boys made this year.  Thanks to Pintrest for the ideas Josh's turned out pretty cute.
Hopefully we can use it again next year :)

Gavin wanted a red Lego.  I made the pegs to big and they kept ripping off.  While it lasted for the day it's not going to have another life.  These are the projects I really enjoy doing with the boys.  They have fun and so do I.
