I can't believe we only have 12 weeks of school left. It's going by so fast. Last week was our spring break where the boys were out for a whole week. My parents so kindly decided that was a good time to come down and see us. They were such a great help. My Dad always amazes me with all the wonderful things he can do. I got my hanging rack that has been sitting in the laundry room for a year hung and it has made a HUGE difference. I also got my curtains hung in the game room, he fixed our fence, a hole in the wall(long story about a angry child.), hung pictures and installed some safety features on our doors. Amongst a few other little things that we just could never get to. When ever they leave I am always so grateful for all the help they are to me. I kept calling my Mom Cinderella because she is a machine that doesn't stop. I know who I got my clean freakness from. :). I hope that I have all that energy when I am her age.
Last Sat. we decided to go to San Antonio and see the Alamo. My Mom had always wanted to go there. Luckily the weather was PERFECT. And it wasn't too crowded. Then we went for a little stroll down the river walk. It was starting to get way crowded so we decided to leave and took them to Freddy's frozen custard for lunch. Dad's love of ice cream was something that I also inherited. On our way home we stopped at Cabala's and picked up a dutch oven.
Ryan got called out of town on Tuesday so again I was so lucky they were here to help me with my overly busy crazy week. I had a scout meeting Tue. night a presidency meeting Wed morning. Soccer was supposed to start for Josh Wed. night but it got Czl due to a tornado warning. So it was nice to be able to spend that night with my parents and watch a crazy Hail storm. Ryan got stranded in New Orleans airport for 9 hrs. and got home at 1:00 a.m. Thursday night. And Friday was Trevor's blue and Gold Banquet that Ryan so kindly volunteered me to make 200 scones for. Oh and I offered to make the punch as well. So all day Friday I was making scones and punch. Again my parents came to my rescue and helped with the kids. And my Mom, Ryan and Trevor pulled the scones while I fried them. It took 2 hrs. to cook that many. But everyone loved them so it was well worth it. I'm glad that week is over. My parents left bright and early this morning. With out even saying goodbye. (I must of wore them out.) But I am so grateful that they came. I'm very blessed to have so many wonderful people in my life.
This is part of the rolls. 216 rising all over my kitchen table and counter. The real trick was to keep Gavin away from them.
